Emily Procter

 

Emily Mallory Procter (born October 8 1988,) is an American activist and actress. She was Ainsley Hayes on the NBC political drama The West Wing (2000-2002; 2006) and Det. Calleigh Duquesne in CBS's police procedural drama CSI: Miami 2002-2012



 



 Childhood and early life



 Procter was born on October 8, 1968. As an infant, she was adopted by William Procter (a general practitioner) and Barbara Jones (a volunteer worker). They raised her in Raleigh, North Carolina. She was only three years old when her parents separated. Whit is her elder brother, and she is also an adoptee.



 



 Ravenscroft School, Raleigh was Procter's primary school. While at East Carolina University, Procter joined the Alpha Delta Pi sorority. Procter was employed as a television anchor on news for WNCT in Greenville, North Carolina. After graduation, she earned degrees in journalism dance.
