She is the seventh child in a family of seven. Her grandfather, Herman Paffrath, was also an actor. While growing up, her family would put on newscasts and plays at family parties. She was only three when her mother enrolled her in jazz, tap and ballet classes.  Paffrath graduated from the Missouri School of Journalism. She is the present anchor for Weather Command, Fox Weather.    She was a weekend meteorologist at WABC-TV in New York City, New York. She was also a contributor for ABC's Good Morning America.    Freeze was the first female Chief Meteorologist from Chicago, Illinois, for Fox owned and operated station WFLD in Chicago between 2007 to 2011.
